Seconn Becomes the Number 94 Car in the Outlaw Late Model Series

Waterford – Sheet metal fabricator and entrepreneur, Robert J. Marelli Jr., knows what it is like to beat the odds. In a relatively short span of time and with industry peers saying it could never be done, he and his team of skilled manufacturers and machinist have built Seconn Fabrication into a business thriving faster than anyone could have anticipated.
Now with a new facility on Cross Road in Waterford, and quickly becoming revered as the industry leader in the Northeast, Marelli is supporting the dreams of another young man, attempting to hurdle an obstacle most would call impossible. “Dillon is just a good kid. He helps in the community, does great in school and he is absolutely passionate about his goal to become a racecar driver,” Marelli shares, as he explains why his company is the featured sponsor for the number 94 car in the Outlaw late Model Series. Comparing the success of the older Marelli and the young Dillon Moltz is to find one thing in common…the surpassing of expectations.
Dillon Moltz, a hometown kid from Waterford, began racing Quarter Midgets at the tender age of nine. In his first year he had nine first place finishes, three seconds, eight thirds and broke the track record. He went on to be one of the top Quarter Midget drivers in the Northeast and he won the track championship at Silver City Racetrack in 2003.
Toward the end of the 2004 season, it was clear that it was time for Dillon to move up in the ranks when the Allison Legacy Race Series was chosen to afford Dillon the closest racing as possible to Nextel Cup cars. Again, he defied the odds, as a 13 year old winning the Northeast Allison Legacy Championship in 2005…in his rookie season.
Dillon is a freshman at Waterford High School and maintains honor roll status. His competitive drive, focus and ability to communicate at all levels are significant strengths. As an extremely personable young man, he is well liked by his teachers, classmates, track officials and, of course, his fans. Beyond school, Dillon is a volunteer firefighter at Cohanzie Fire Company, spends time at Kobyluck Race Shop, loves to fish, and racing for Kids with Cancer. “He is an easy guy to like, and frankly, I am honored to have Seconn painted on the hood of his car,” Marelli says.
The 2006 season brings us to a whole new level. Dillon will be racing in the Outlaw Late Model Series, which is a touring series associated with the P.A.S.S. Tour, throughout the Northeast. “Look at what Seconn has become,” says Marelli, while standing in the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. “We made this possible through our dedication to our mission, and I see the same drive in Dillon, and I am proud to associate my company with a young man of his character.”
