Quality Assurance Manager

Purpose

Responsible for administering the company quality program in accordance with customer and company requirements. In charge of the implementation and direction of ISO 9000 management systems and other philosophies and methodologies such as Total Quality Management and Continuous Improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Monitors the quality management system’s performance by publishing data and reports to measure and advises the company against set indicators.
  • Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
  • Set QA compliance objectives and ensure that targets are achieved.
  • Maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
  • Assess suppliers' and own company's product specifications and customer requirements.
  • Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
  • Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
  • Set up and maintain controls and documentation.
  • Identify relevant quality-related training needs.
  • Liaise with customers’ auditors and ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications.
  • Establish standards of service for customers or clients.

Qualifications

  • Four year technical degree
  • Additional class work in management type courses and problem-solving techniques (i.e. Statistical Quality Control/Statistical Process Control).
  • Five to ten years of broad technical experience, of which at least two to three years should be in quality administration and/or quality engineering.
  • Three to five years experience in managing technical personnel and complex activities.

Programmer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Ability to analyze part drawings, specifications, and design data
  • Write programs for CNC machines, laser and punch
  • Design from print or sample provided by customer to manufacture in house
  • Assist in design concepts with customer
  • Assist shop in assembly of parts and designs
  • Ability to inspect flat layout from prints

Experience

  • 3 years Cad programming in 3D Merry Mech Software and Solidworks a plus
  • 3 years experience in precision sheet metal or job shops
  • Will train the right candidate

Full Time Inside Sales & Estimating

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Precision sheet metal experience required.
  • Must be familiar with MRP systems.
  • Have the ability to read blue prints and communicate with customers and contractors 

Arrives to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.

CNC Punch Operator

Purpose

  • Set-up, run, and maintains CNC punch equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Selection of proper punches and dies per punch set-up sheet.
  • Verification of sharp tooling before commencing job
  • Sharpen tools as needed
  • Capability to set-up machine with proper die clearances and use of shim stock
  • Manual editing as required on machine console
  • Produce punched material to the cosmetic standard required.
  • Knowledge of Company cosmetic workmanship standard specified and how to interpret it to the specified quality specified on the traveler.
  • Proper stacking and protection of parts as required to maintain specified quality standard.
  • Preventive machine maintenance as required by manufacturer
  • Measurement verification of punched material
  • Maintain tooling and recommend for replacement of worn tooling
  • Forklift and pallet jack operation capability to transfer material
  • Perform work within acceptable quality and productivity standards
  • Maintain work area in a neat and organized manner

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma, GED, technical school training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience desired as a punch run operator preferably in precision sheet metal industry.
  • Must have strong, demonstrated abilities working in a fast paced production area.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Measurement skills required.
  • Must have proven abilities in communication, organization, setting priorities, work well independently and in a team environment, and be results-orientated.
  • Able to adapt quickly to change and work under tight deadlines.
  • Must be cooperative, willing to share knowledge, cross-train, take on additional responsibilities, and hold self-accountable.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets technical information on blueprints, and job travelers.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal/external customers.
  • Ability to clearly communicate information to all levels of the organization

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Requires math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
  • Demonstrated ability to use precision measurement equipment to verify proper metal thickness.
  • Requires accuracy in counting parts and production data entry.

CNC Press Brake Setup/Operator

Description
A full-time position in our metal operations department for a CNC Press Brake/Operator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Frequent lifting of 50lbs without assistance
  • Setup of press brake with CNC back gauge
  • Verify flat patterns and stretch-outs
  • Perform custom metal fabrication for prototypes
  • Meet stringent production time standards
  • Read blueprints with thorough understanding of the press brake tooling requirements
  • Have advanced understanding of QA instruments

Qualifications

  • Must have mechanical and mental skill level to master all tools and machines required for the job.
  • Will be required to walk a job through entirely from raw material to finished part.
  • Cross training in other areas will take place as skills progress and overtime will be required periodically which may result in coming in early, staying late, working on the weekend or all there.
  • Short lead times will require a balance of quality while maintaining a stringent production schedule.
  • A commitment to customer expectations of dimensional and cosmetic quality fabrication is required. 

Welder/Fabricator (2nd Shift)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Minimum two to three years experience
  • Ability to weld mig, tig, 
  • Ability to run all standard shop machinery
  • Ability to read blueprints and layout drawings
  • Lifting of up to 50lbs and 75lbs
  • Occasionally, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity, visual acuity.
  • Ability to weld mild steel, aluminum and stainless steel. 
  • Operate 4.5 inch and 7 inch angle grinder, manual vertical band saw, pedistal grinder, and various clamps and fixtures. 
  • Basic manual milling machine opperations essential.
  • Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner.  
  • Responsible for set-up, lay-out , and tack-up of various precision weldments, cabinets and brackets. 
  • Ability to hold final required cosmetic finish with angle grinders and sanders. 
  • Square up and weld various geometries of components.
  • Understand various weld form symbols on blue prints and understand size of fillet forms.
  • Weld both vertical and horizontal plane geometry.
  • Understand various edge preps before welding.
  • Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner.
  • Arrives to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.
