Quality Assurance

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in English (written and oral).
  • Properly use and read measurement equipment and gauges.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to read product prints and understand customer requirements.
  • Familiarity with shop flow, practices and procedures.
  • Precision sheet metal experience, a plus.
  • ISO experience preferred (not required).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Responsible for performing incoming inspection of production from outside suppliers.
  • Responsible for releasing incoming material.
  • Interface with purchasing to establish preferred vendor status.
  • Perform first piece, in-process and final product inspections, which include inspection reports.
  • Investigate and provide corrective actions for in-house quality issues and customer returns.
  • Provide investigative support for customer complaints.
  • Conduct technical conversations with customers and suppliers regarding quality issues in a professional manner.
  • Train and coach employees on first piece inspection and other quality procedures.
  • Fill leadership roles when called upon.
  • Maintain frequent contact with employees and departments by being visible and available.
  • Analyze quality information in support of process improvements.
  • Mark routers, drawings and other documents as necessary for future updates.
  • Coordinate and run RMA meetings.
  • Specify and implement improvements in cost effectiveness, manufacturing processes and procedures, material suitability, reject and defect rates, etc.
